The class has been working on mastering place value with the one's place, ten's place, and hundred's place (and even the thousand's place).
We practice identifying the digit and the value of the digit.
This game helps us understand expanded form (example: 500 + 30 + 8 = 538).
The students are also working to master addition and subtraction skills
by making both an addition and a subtraction problem with a domino.
Our class LOVES Kahoot!
We did a math check in today with place value.
What number is made out of 7 tens and 5 ones?
You've got it... 75!
Which number is bigger?
The kids buddied up to roll 3 dice.
They read their numbers and determined which number was greater!
We played a fantastic strategy game where students could decide whether they were using addition or subtraction (and possibly multiplication) with the two dice to knock down their own numbered, wooden pieces. The goal is to get all of your pieces down.
We also like to explore the app Front Row.
This app helps each friend to work on math that is "just right" for him or her.
