Grammar:
Adjectives- Last week we learned that adjectives describe nouns. This week we will learn more about how we can use numbers and colors to describe nouns.
Essential Question:
How can retelling stories, using key details, demonstrate understanding of the text?
We will continue to use our "Retelling Rope" to help us recall key details in a text. We are focusing on the setting, characters, the problem, beginning, middle, and end with a solution.
Language Standards for Speaking and Listening:
- Build on others’ talk in conversations by responding to the comments of others through multiple exchanges.
- Ask questions to clear up any confusion about the topics and text under discussion.
We are learning how to ask the teacher or other students questions when we need help understanding. We will continue to work on building off of another student's comments (piggy backing, add to what was said).
Math:
Math:
- This week in math we are continuing to work on adding and subtracting with missing numbers.
- We are are also introducing adding a one digit number to a two digit number (ex. 82 +4).
- We will continue to practice identifying place value.
